Formaldehyde emission standards: E1 board , E0 board, ENF board, F 4-star board, which level is better?

The younger generation has a stronger concern and recognition for environmental protection, and also pays more attention to creating a healthy environment in home life.

The standard for formaldehyde board refers to the E1 board , European standard, CARB board , E0 board, ENF board , F-star board certification standards and other words that you can see when buying decoration board. But if you have no idea about these environmental protection levels, you will start to feel confused when choosing boards, and you will not know whether your future living space is healthy enough, and whether the board furniture you spend time with day and night will make you feel at ease.

E1 board

At present, the common formaldehyde emission standards in China include three indicator levels: E1board, E0 board, and ENF board, but the scope of application of these three indicators is different.

On October 1, 2021, China's new environmental regulations were implemented, and the formaldehyde emission standards were divided into three levels: E1board, E0 board, and ENF board. The standards gradually increased from beginning to end. E1 level (≤ 0.124 mg/m) ³The limit requirement is a national standard for formaldehyde emissions from artificial board products, and also an entry-level level for indoor decoration. If the release amount of the board is greater than 0.124 mg/m ³In theory, it is not allowed to be used for indoor decoration, which means that if the board wants to be placed in the customer's home, it must reach this level.

E0 board

The previous formaldehyde standards in our country were imported from Europe, and the European standards were basically E1 board level. The standard values of European standard E1board and national standard E1 board are exactly the same, so if you use European standard E1 board  as national standard E1board, it is also a threshold level product.

ENF board

The E0 board level formaldehyde release standard is 0.050mg/m ³It is the most popular product on the market, and because it is relatively affordable, its sales are very high. If there are no children at home, using E0 board is completely no problem! ENF board level refers to the absence of formaldehyde addition during the production process, and its formaldehyde release standard is 0.025mg/m ³It has a very high level of authority, far exceeding E0 board level, and is suitable for the classification of formaldehyde emissions from various indoor artificial boards and their products. When purchasing various types of boards such as particleboard, plywood, block board, decorative artificial boards, wooden flooring, wooden wall panels, wooden doors, etc., ENF board environmental standards can be followed.

E1 board

The CARB board standard is a certification standard in the United States, which also has certain requirements for production processes. P1 and P2 respectively, as well as the highest level NAF level, P1 is equivalent to E1, P2 is close to E0 , and the highest NAF is called formaldehyde free exemption certification. For example, NAF level requires that no substances containing formaldehyde are added to the board at any stage of the production process, but if the unified unit is ppm (formaldehyde content per million parts of air), it is still lower than China's ENF level.

E0 board

F-star is Japan's standard system for free formaldehyde, with four star evaluation criteria. The standard gradually becomes stricter from one star to four stars, and the highest internationally certified environmental standard is F-4 star. Not only does it require formaldehyde, but it also conducts environmental certification for the entire factory production system, including various aspects of raw materials, production processes, and finished products.

 ENF board

In terms of the indicator of free formaldehyde, F4 star is the highest standard internationally, and its average formaldehyde release limit cannot exceed 0.3mg/L, with no restrictions on its usage area.
