E0, ENF, F 4-star, and P2,which is more environmentally friendly?

How to detect the environmental protection level of  Medium fiber board E0, ENF, F 4-star, P2, and which one is higher?

Medium density board

1: Testing method for environmental protection level of fiberboard:

There are three ways to test the environmental protection level of  MDF board : dryer method, climate chamber method, and drilling extraction method. The drilling extraction method is generally used for internal testing by sheet metal manufacturers and is rarely used for product testing and evaluation.

Although all three methods of detection are used to detect formaldehyde, the experimental methods and scope of detection are also different. The detection data for the same board and different methods will definitely be different, and there is a significant difference in numbers.

For example, using a dryer method to release formaldehyde: a 0.5mg/L board will definitely be much more environmentally friendly than using a climate box method to release 0.2mg/m of formaldehyde, rather than much worse. All numerical comparisons must be conducted using the same detection method. Let's first understand the key points of these three detection methods:

Drilling extraction method: detect the formaldehyde content inside the Medium density board .

Drier method: detect the amount of free formaldehyde in the board.

Climate chamber method: detects the amount of formaldehyde released per unit time under stable humidity and ventilation, simulating the indoor environment.

2Which fiberboard has a higher environmental protection level, such as E0, ENF, F 4-star, or P2?

Which is more environmentally friendly, ENF level or F 4 star? In fact, China's ENF level is already the world's most stringent environmental protection standard for testing using the climate box method, while Japan's F4 star is the most stringent standard for testing using the dryer method. However, the testing methods between the two are different. Who is more environmentally friendly? Because the detection severity of F4 stars in Japan is higher than that of the same dryer method in China, the formaldehyde content detected by the domestic dryer method is less than 0.3mg/L, which does not necessarily indicate that reaching F4 stars in Japan is achieved through the dryer method. The main difference between the two is:

F 4-star requires evaluation and testing of the production line

The temperature detected by the F4 star dryer differs slightly from the temperature requirements detected by domestic dryers

So, there are very few authoritative F4 star testing institutions in China. Therefore, we often use climate boxes to test boards that have obtained Japanese F4 star certification in China and find that they meet ENF level standards simultaneously, and generally outperform the standards by a considerable margin. At the same time, we will also use the dryer method to test the boards that have obtained ENF certification domestically. We found that the number of digits is slightly higher than that of the same board that has truly obtained F4 star certification:

Through multiple cross comparisons of these two, we believe that (personal opinion):

The F-4 star is slightly more stringent than the ENF level. However, this difference is extremely small, and unless there is a large amount of wooden products used in home decoration, there is almost no significant difference in normal home decoration life! Special emphasis:

F 4-star specifically refers to those who have obtained certification, rather than numbers less than 0.3mg/L

So, whether it's F 4 stars or ENF level, it's basically the pinnacle of environmental protection for sheet metal. As long as you ensure that the environmental protection level of the sheet metal you purchase is authentic!

Based on the common environmental standards mentioned above:

The national standard E1 level is slightly equal to the European standard E1 level, the NAF or P2 level is approximately equal to E0 level, which is better than E1 level, and the ENF level is slightly better than E0 level, with a low point of F 4 stars.

Other environmental protection levels can be found in the table data:
